Ruby shook her head. "No," she said with certainty. "Only since coming here."
She looked across the table at Loki, and although his expression gave nothing away, she thought she could hear the gears in his head turning. The sort of knowledge he had to have to have locked away in his brain was far too vast for Ruby to even make an attempt at guessing what he might be thinking, so she did not. Instead she waited, and when his response was to ask for her hand she was startled, but still moved to give it to him.
She slid her hand into his easily, trustingly, not knowing what he wanted to do but never thinking for a second that it might be something to hurt her. She thought about lightening the mood with an (honest) compliment as to how he had rather lovely hands, but she instead remained quiet, watching his face and waiting.
